Jeep is taking major steps to right the wrongs that plagued the launch of its Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer full-size, three-row SUVs—namely high prices, nagging quality issues, and general confusion surrounding their names and branding.

First and foremost, the Wagoneer is no more. Every model will now be called a Grand Wagoneer from here on out, starting with the newly updated 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer lineup.

In addition, the Jeep badge is back and prominent on the Grand Wagoneer, with the prior plans to turn Wagoneer into a premium subbrand now fully scrapped. Partly as a result, pricing starts at just under $65,000, with no aspirations to sell it for north of six figures.

The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer’s powertrains take a new turn, as well, thanks to the addition of a range-extended plug-in hybrid (REEV) powertrain where the gas engine acts as a generator, making it the fastest Grand Wagoneer to date, one that will also reportedly be capable of 150 miles of EV-only range and some 500 miles of range in all. But before the EREV-powered models launch, the updated Grand Wagoneer will be offered with the already available standard-output Hurricane I-6 gas engine.

Set to arrive later this year, the 2026 Grand Wagoneer gets a new look with a redesigned front end and a larger color palette with lighter hues. The face is more high-tech and aggressive than before, with an updated grille and signature lighting mounted higher on the vehicle to give it a more blunt, square appearance. Each of the seven slots in the grille is illuminated, and there are T-shaped LED lights in the lower fascia. New wheel designs span from 18 to 22 inches.

Jeep went for a dual personality with a trim walk that includes a new Upland off-road rugged model, which contrasts against the more elegant, top-end Summit with its 22-inch wheels, body-color wheel flares, and a bespoke interior.
